Reference 1.2— To be
completed by the Principal or a Teacher of your SEE school a. What are
some areas in which the applicant has shown a need for improvement?
Academically, she is already an
independent learner, however, she could work a little more on
prioritization and time management skills as a future leader.
b. Why do you think the applicant is suitable for UWC?
Under close observation and the
exhibition of her multifarious interests and commitments, I believe she could
gain much more than what she is getting or is likely to get in the local high
schools and colleges in Nepal. Given the opportunity to be mentored in an
institute like UWC where learners are provided with a broad spectrum of
developing and adapting global human values and social ideals. I am
confident that she would certainly live up to the expectations and the needs
for a future youth leader. IBDP curriculum suits her as it is developed in a
way that calls for candidates who want to learn to live independently and work
and make social changes collaboratively.
c. In what capacity do/did you know the
applicant? In other words, what is your relationship with the applicant
and how do you know him/her/they?
She is a school graduate now. I taught her English for a period of two years in her early
Secondary Level School. In the course of mentoring, I found her one of the brightest learners
whom I could confidently rely on for both academic and non-academic projects that were assigned.
