Needless to say, the US Embassy Nepal has remained instrumental in developing Nepali Society by means of both financial and logistic support in many areas like education, economic growth and trade, human rights, democracy and good governance, health and sanitation, food security, social justice, gender equity and women empowerment, crisis and conflict management, and several such fields at all times and climes.
In the light of this fact and upon selection for the program, I hope to bring the best possible learning experiences from the program which would further catalyze our relationship. I anticipate creating a conducive environment or a forum at my workplace and in the professional network whereby I could launch relevant American Edu-cultural programs on one hand and expect the US Embassy to inform and disseminate important research updates that touch the theme of the program, “Liberty, Equality and the American Dream”, through which further batches of students, teachers, researchers, and administrators could be inspired and prepared for both further studies and professional exchange programs. This would enable them further to understand and uphold Nepal-US relationships not only at a professional level but also at the grassroots level.
The recent cultural trip to the United States has inspired me to further create and launch similar programs in the days and months to come as it becomes an effective instrument to experiential learning mostly for professionals and students like us. My school in this regard has been attempting to multiply the number of student and teacher visits to the United States on a regular basis.
Here at this point, my team is looking for the right procedures and channels to approach the Embassy and get reasonable support in facilitating and extending such programs more officially and productively. My team is also looking forward to launching the US- Nepal Secondary School Level student and teacher exchange programs in the days to come. This would undoubtedly strengthen our academic and cultural bond. After all, we share the shelter of the same sky. (332 words)
