Please note the following guidelines:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            1)     The test area must include at least one chapter/lesson representing one genre each: Poetry, Prose and Drama.
       2)     All these genres are to be assessed proportionately as far as possible.
       3)     Do not ask questions for less than a full mark.
       4)     All test task items, except for HOT questions=5-6 marks, carry 1 mark each.
       5)     Note that CAS band may vary from Grade I to VIII.                                                            
       6)     Design your test making a proportionate representation of knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation or creativity as far as possible.
       7)      This test specification matrix is meant for grades 6-8 in general. Teachers, are therefore, suggested to pick and choose the most relevant test tasks and items that best cater to the text genres they have practised in the class.
