Dear Sir,
We know there are various languages in the world. Among these languages, the English language is one of them. Also known as 'lingua-franca. English is spoken all over the world. As the world is developing every day, so should we. Whether in the field of education or communication, we need to be equally developed with the world. So to be equally developed with the world, I am focusing mainly on my English as a second language for communication i.e., the English language in the terms of reading, listening, communicating, and writing. So in this mail, I'm describing how I'm working to improve my English communication, reading, writing, and listening.
In every corner of the world, we find people speaking English. Whether we are in Sydney or Colorado, we find people speaking the English language. So as I also learn in an English medium school, I want myself to be the best speaker and writer in the whole school. So I am working on my reading, learning, writing, and communicating in these ways:
Reading
We all want to be excellent readers in the English language. Likewise, so do I. To make my English reading like an expert like Barack Hussain Obama, Mitchell Obama, etc. I always practice by reading storybooks written by Dan Brown, Rick Riordan, Robin Sharma, etc. I also find new words and their meanings with the assistance of a dictionary. I also learn essays, speeches by famous people like Martin Luther King Jr, Abraham Lincoln, etc., biographies of people like Malala, Mahatma Gandhi, etc.
Writing
The first aim of my life was to be a writer. So from the start of school life, I'm always working hard to improve my English writing. Every day, I do 1 page of creative writing. I write short stories, essays, paragraphs, etc. While I'm at home, every day I go to English writing tuition classes.
Speaking
I want to be a fluent speaker from now on so that it can help me when I give interviews, lectures, etc. To improve my speaking skill, I say a short speech to myself. In the hostel, I everyday read essays, paragraphs, etc. out loud. I try speaking in a British tone which one day I will.
Listening
If you read, it is only speaking. But if you listen, then you memorize it. With trying to improve my English speaking, writing, and reading, I am trying to improve my English listening skill as well. I listen to English songs by Ed Sheeran, John Legend, Justin Bieber, etc. I also listen to English tapes. In the hostel, I listen to radio programs by the BBC.
In this way, I work every day to improve my English writing, listening, speaking, and reading. I hope my ideas are nice in order to improve my English skills.
