Grammar: Articles
Do not use any article before/ when/with:
1. Names of languages: as;
a) English
b) French
c) German
d) Hindi
e) Nepali
f) Tamil
g) Kannad
h) Malayalam
i) Telugu
j) Urdu
k) Arabic, etc.
2. Names of games: as;
a) football
b) cricket
c) baseball
d) lawn-tennis
e) badminton
f) carom
g) judo
h) Taekwondo, etc.
3. Names of diseases: as;
a) dysentery
b) diarrhea
c) Malaria
d) Typhoid
e) tetanus
f) diphtheria
g) hoping cough
h) sinusitis, etc.
4. Before the words like
‘man’ ‘home’, etc. referred in general.
5. Before singular proper
names: as; Ram, Harry, Tom, Dick, Mt. Everest, etc
6. There is not any count
noun after the adjective of positive degree: as; Hritika is...ø… honest. Riwaz
is ...ø...nice.
7. Some content words like
adverb, verbs, pronouns, and even gerunds: like: Making money is

8. Words like: type of, kind
of, sort of + noun
9. Rank and title without
any detail Major, Colonel, etc.
